Teaching

The following sections break the ranks out into groups to teach similar subject matter to prepare them for their test. Unranked and the first rank of silver sash would be the first group of silvers. The second group, whites, consists of anyone with a white cord in their sash, or ranks 2-4. Typically silvers and whites are grouped together for the teaching section. Each group after is then designated by the lowest color cord in their knot, as follows:

Yellows: Ranks 5-7

Browns: Ranks 8-10

Purples: Ranks 11-13

Oranges: Ranks 14-16

Reds: Ranks 17-19

Greens: Ranks 20-22

Blues: Ranks 23-25

Silvers and Whites

Curriculum consists of the order of the ranks of Evach Lahak, general rules, rules on hits, fighting vocabulary, how to fight with superior numbers, standard form, strikes, blocks, thrusts, up to 10 basic blocks and strikes, and up to 20 of the one-hundred drill.

Yellows

Curriculum consists of the first sutra, close and wide flanking concepts, one step line drills, up to 5 sets of basic blocks and strikes each hand, up to 40 of the one-hundred drill with one hand or 20 with each, and the fighting test rules.

Browns

Curriculum consists of the first 3 sutras, counter flanking concepts, one step step-backs and two step forward moving line drills, up to 15 sets of basic blocks and strikes, up to 60 of the one-hundred drill with one hand or 40 with each, and fighting test strategies.

Purples

Curriculum consists of the first 4 sutras, tight and wide line concepts, the first three steps in the form The Eight, 2 step back and step backs, up to 10 sets of basic blocks and strikes using both hands or 20 sets with one, up to 80 of the one-hundred drill with one hand, and fighting test strategies.

Oranges

Curriculum consists of the first 6 sutras, charging concepts, mixing two step line drills moving forward or backwards, the first seven steps in the form The Eight, up to 15 sets of basic blocks and strikes with both hands, up to 100 of the one-hundred drill with one hand or 60 with each, and fighting test strategies.

Reds

Curriculum consists of the first 7 sutras, fighting against superior numbers and reserve concepts, two step line drills, The Eight, up to 20 sets of the basic blocks and strikes with each hand, up to 100 of the one-hundred drill with each hand, and fighting test strategies.

Greens

Curriculum consists of the first 10 sutras, intermediate line, fortification, and flanking concepts, 3 step line drills, the first 8 steps of the Right handed form, up to 25 sets of basic blocks and strikes with each hand, and up to 120 of the one-hundred drill with each hand.

Blues

Curriculum consists of the first 12 sutras, intermediate charging and reserve concepts, 3 step line drills with 45 degree steps, the right handed form, 30 sets of basic blocks and strikes with each hand, and up to 120 of the one-hundred drill with each hand.
